I have been reading Luke's work for some time now. Knowing his writing style and his ability to convey practical experiences into writing has kept me reading. It's no different with "BlueyedBC : Business Continuity Management: An insight into the world of business continuity management".Luke guides the reader through his own experiences, what he learned from each of them and gives practical advice for addressing them. He mentions most, if not all of the key obstacles Jr. BC professionals will face when starting out, particularly calling out risk as one of these things that should be understood, then managed. He also weaves throughout the book how it's important to seek out mentors and experienced planners on the path to becoming and expert.
I highly recommend this book for those just starting out in the Business Continuity Profession. It's a handy book to reference when you are faced with the obstacles Luke talks about. We all will face them at some point in our careers.

Finally - a book that looks at the business continuity phenomenon from a completely fresh and upbeat perspective. I found myself smiling frequently as I read the book. While the book isn't a technical treatise or simple how-to, it does take a youthful and irreverent view of what is often a rather stuffy and occasionally boring subject. I ought to know - I've written dozens of articles about BC and DR over the past 25 years. Let me tell you, it's not easy to find humor in these subjects. Fortunately for us in the profession, we now have a new generation of players and Luke Bird is out front leading the charge!
A very easy to read ebook as the author Luke Bird provides a very uncomplicated look at the world of business continuity management. The author takes the reader on a journey of personal experiences and at the same time shares many aspects that a very common in the bcm world. This book is an ideal read for all new recruit in to this exciting and professional business, especially with an insight of what is in store for during ISO 22301 certification process.
